About Us

Origins

For Devin’s birthday in 2023, his brother Nolan gifted him a custom 3D printed Kendama with a large hole going through the Sarado and a flat base “cup”.  Devin was on the verge of quitting Kendama after five years of playing, but this dama rekindled his interest by providing something very new and exciting.

Soon thereafter, Devin and Nolan Lautrette founded Amadama with the idea of bringing fun, new shapes to the Kendama community and expanding the realm of possibility.  Starting with a cheap, $150 3D printer, they got to work perfecting the first designs.  Those designs, which include the Sworado, Handle Stall Trainer, and Challenger, have since come a long way and are hopefully the first of many new Kendama shapes!

Our Vision

We envision a world where the total number of possible Kendama tricks continues to grow as new shapes are introduced regularly based on Community input.  We want to make it easier for unique ideas from Kendama players all around the world to become a reality, so if you have a design idea, let us know on our Discord Server!

Kickstarter

In May 2024, we launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring Amadama to life.  In less than two months, the campaign got fully funded by 48 generous backers!  In exchange for their help, these backers got early access to the Amadama Kendamas and shared plenty of new tricks that we hadn’t even thought of!
